Aesthetics 25 Credits (750 Clock Hours)
Description of Course:

During Training, students will receive instruction in the following state
mandated areas;  chemistry (40 hours), physiology (35 hours), bacteriology &
sanitation (35 hours), introduction of skin care (45 hours), skin care (150
hours), makeup & corrective makeup (50 hours), eyebrow & lashes (40 hours),
hair removal (40 hours), safety precautions (20 hours), professional &
personality development (20 hours), management (20 hours), salesmanship (15
hours), state laws, rules & regulations (10 hours), testing evaluation (15 hours),
instructors discretion (65 hours).  In addition to the state mandated 600 hours
of instruction, students will be required to complete 150 additional hours of
training in the use of Aesthetic specialty machines training.

     C.  Aesth 3 (60 Hours / 2 Credits)

     D.  Aesth P-10 (210 Hours / 7 Credits)
             1.  Junior Practicum:  Students practice principles and techniques
learned in theory classes on manikins and classmates until competency is
demonstrated, then student may perform those tasks and services in the school
clinic.

II.  Term 2 – 13 Credits (390 Hours)

             1.  Advanced Aesthetics Topics

     C.  Aesth P-11 (270 Hours / 9 Credits)
             1.  Senior Practicum:  Students will continue to practice principles    
and techniques learned in Term 1, and they will practice the principles and  
techniques learned in Term 2.  When competency is demonstrated, tasks and
services may be performed in school clinic, and student will participate in a
mock state board examination.

Grading Procedures:

Students will be evaluated throughout the course using a variety of tests.  A
written evaluation will be given upon completion of each theoretical chapter.  A
numerical grade will be calculated and a letter grade will be assigned.  The
assignment is as follows:
             90-100 = A
             80-89   = B
             70-79   = C
             69 and Below = Failure
Practical evaluations will be given upon completion of the practical exercises.  
There will also be an evaluation given at the end of each term.  A numerical
grade will be calculated based on the accuracy of completed tasks.

Instructional Methods:

The teaching methods used to facilitate training in Aesthetics include, but are
not limited to; lecture, lecture/demonstration, incorporating various teaching aids
to increase student comprehension.
